Teatro Micaelense extends its activity to the Town of Rabo de Peixe through Cine-teatro Miramar. In a town with complex social problems, that require wide, articulated and motivating interventions for the more disadvantaged strata of the population, namely younger people, the multi-purpose nature of Cine-theater Miramar makes it an important space for intervention, not only at a recreational level, but also, and mostly, at a socio-educational level. Protocols have been established for cooperation between Teatro Micaelense, Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Ribeira Grande, the Regional Culture Directorate and local schools, so as to enhance its use.
This is a space which is lived intensely by the children and young people that attend it daily. Here they can use the library, the toy library and the multimedia kiosk, play music, watch the screening of movies, perform theater plays or receive varied training. In the auditorium, seating 120 people, concerts, performances, workshops, releases and conferences take place. It is also the headquarters of the Rabo de Peixe Music School.
