Mostra de Cinema Indiano

24 and 25 October

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Portugal. From October 24 to 25, 2025, a film festival will be held at the Teatro Micaelense to commemorate this milestone in relations between the two countries.

Best-selling films, fascinating stories, and thrilling action sequences represent a slice of the Indian film industry, spanning multiple states and languages. This project aims to revive the nostalgia of Indian cinema, so popular in Portugal in the 1970s. In recent years, scenic locations in Portugal, including the Azores, have served as the stage for several of these films.
